Jim Marusak joined the firm as a senior associate in 1985, shortly after the firm was founded. He became a partner in 1987. Over the years his practice has involved numerous areas of civil litigation and currently includes Title, Boundary, Mortgage and Real Estate litigation, Toxic Tort defense, Municipal and Local Government Defense, Personal Injury, and a diversity of Tort and Contractual claims. He also has significant expertise in appellate matters and has handled cases in the Federal District and Circuit Courts, The United States Supreme Court and in the Rhode Island State Supreme Court. His appellate work has resulted in more than fifty published decisions. He has also been the author of several published treatises, editorials and articles and he has received awards and professional citations from among others, Common Cause of Rhode Island, The Rhode Island Senate, The Environmental Counsel of Rhode Island and The Rhode Island General Assembly. Jim is also a member of the Board of Trustees of The Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
